Picture a group of vintage motorcyclists, dressed in their Sunday best, riding together to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. It might look like it could be any given riding day back in the 1920s or 30s, or it could be the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR)—a uniquely structured motorcycle fundraising event that takes place in cities around the world each May since 2012.

Mark and Nick from City Limit Moto have been talking to me about the DGR since I met them back in 2018. They’d always rave about the great events they’d experienced in Rochester, while also noting that Buffalo never really had a strong DGR presence. That’s finally changing.

With the growth of City Limit Moto and the addition of their Triumph Motorcycles dealership, Mark and Nick are stepping up to host the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Buffalo, NY on Sunday, May 17th. I’m excited to share that they’ve invited me, along with a few other riders, to help organize this year’s ride. We’ve already begun planning with the goal of turning DGR Buffalo into an annual event riders genuinely look forward to.

For those unfamiliar, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide motorcycle charity ride benefiting the Movember Foundation, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. Riders suit up in classic, dapper attire and take to the streets on café racers, bobbers, classics, and modern-retro bikes—all while sparking important conversations that can save lives.

This year’s ride is especially meaningful to me personally. My old Springer just turned 20, officially earning “vintage” status, which makes this the perfect year to jump into the DGR tradition. A worthy cause, old-school style, and a bike with a couple of decades under its drive belt—it just feels right.

Why DGR Is Different

Across New York, the Kantor Gullo Law Firm proudly supports many charity runs and riding events each year, but the DGR stands apart in a few key ways.

First, pre-registration is required. Riders sign up through the official DGR website rather than registering day-of. This keeps the ride organized, safe, and connected to the global event—more like the Ride for Roswell than most of our local charity runs.

Second, fundraising is central to the mission. Riders are encouraged to collect pledges benefiting the Movember Foundation. Every dollar helps, and with Triumph of Buffalo officially joining the global DGR family, this is Buffalo’s chance to make a real impact.

How to Pre-Register

Getting started is easy.
Visit gentlemansride.com/register

Once registered, you’ll receive full ride details when they’re released in March and can begin fundraising and inviting friends. Even if you’re still on the fence, pre-registering keeps you in the loop.

An Invitation to Riders, Volunteers, and Sponsors

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride isn’t about brand loyalty—it’s about community. Whether you ride a Triumph, Harley, Honda, or something truly unique, you’re welcome as long as your bike fits the spirit of the event: classic, modern classic, café racer, bobber, scrambler, scooter, or anything with vintage charm.

And of course, dressing the part is half the fun. Break out the vest, bow tie, and polished boots, and lean into the theme.

Non-riders are welcome too. We’re looking for volunteers, photographers (sepia filter experience is a plus), videographers, and supporters to help make this event a success. We’re also welcoming sponsors and local businesses interested in participating, donating items, or simply helping spread the word.

See You on the Road

The Kantor Gullo Law Firm believes in supporting the motorcycle community—not just after crashes, but by giving back and backing causes that matter. We’re proud to support the Movember mission and help bring the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to Buffalo.

Let’s make our city proud.
Let’s support men’s health.
And let’s do it in style.

Pre-register today, and we’ll see you and your vintage motorcycle in downtown Buffalo, NY—dressed to the nines—on May 17th.
